My Favorite Thanksgiving Tradition
By Thomas Kinkade
f all the holiday rituals, the one I prize the most is when we come together to share a meal with loved ones in shared celebration. Even though our family circle is small, Thanksgiving is a time when we pause to savor traditions of thankfulness, kindness and sharing with
everyone. The love contained in a family is spread throughout the world on Thanksgiving Day, because giving to each other while appreciating what we have is universal and timeless.
I always think about the marvelous meal my wife Nanette creates every Thanksgiving Day. Early in the morning, she starts baking her wonderful pumpkin bread, filling the air with sweetness that lasts for hours. Then, other amazing scents invade the kitchen, emanating from her green bean casserole, French apple pie, country fresh biscuits, and then, of course, the highlight of the meal --the turkey, perfectly roasted and tender from breast to drumstick. These memorable smells make Thanksgiving what it is for me every year at this time. And, of course, I always seem to vividly remember the grand meal with family gathered around when I think of Thanksgiving! Enjoy!
